Why I made this

From my science-nerd brain (and my kitchen) to yours!

Hi, I’m Alex — I’m an oncology dietitian with a special interest in breast cancer nutrition. I created this eBook because I’ve seen how confusing post-treatment nutrition can feel. Between the internet rabbit holes, well-meaning advice, and fatigue, it's easy to feel stuck.

This guide brings together practical recipes, evidence-based insights, and a bit of breathing room — so you can stop stressing about food, and start feeling more like yourself again.

It’s something I originally made for my clients — but I knew it was too helpful not to share with you, too.

What others are saying

“This is brilliant. Such a helpful resource for me after breast cancer treatment.” — J, breast cancer client

“Really beautiful piece of work. The things that I’ve really enjoyed are the breakfast options I never would have thought of myself. The kimchi scramble is a fantastic, yummy thing! And the breakfast smoothie, that’s a yummy combination. And the tuna and mustard toastie, also yum yum. Thanks so so much for sharing it with me.” — A, breast cancer client

“I’m really enjoying the recipes, very easy to follow and so delicious! The Bircher, Chia Pudding and Boosted Smoothie are my favourites! I’ve also made a huge batch of the Lentil Dahl to put in the freezer as I knew I’d be tired starting back at work last week and wanted to make it easier for myself” — L, breast cancer client

“This is the most unstressed I have been about food since I was 10 or 12 years old”. - J, breast cancer client

This isn’t just a recipe book, it’s a comprehensive evidence-based resource to support your body after breast cancer. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how nutrition supports recovery, hormone balance, gut health, and long-term health — along with the practical recipes to help you put your new knowledge into action.

Good to know

  • Survivorship refers to the time from a cancer diagnosis onward — whether you’re in active treatment, finished with treatment, or living with advanced or metastatic disease.

It recognises that the cancer experience doesn’t end when treatment does. Survivorship includes the physical, emotional and practical challenges that can continue well beyond diagnosis, and it’s about supporting your health and quality of life for the long haul.

  • While this eBook is focused on survivorship, some people find they’re able to tolerate a regular diet during treatment — and in those cases, many of these recipes can absolutely be helpful.

If you’re feeling well enough to eat a typical diet, you’ll likely find the meals both practical and enjoyable. However, some recipes may not meet the higher energy or protein needs that cancer treatment places on the body.

Please also note that certain recipes include raw fermented foods like kimchi and kefir, which aren’t recommended if you’re immunocompromised.

If you’d like personalised support during your treatment, feel free to email me at hello@feelbetternutrition.com.au to discuss the best next steps.

  • No — let’s save the paper! This is a downloadable PDF that you can access anywhere, anytime. Many people find it handy to use a tablet or phone stand on the kitchen bench to follow along with the recipes.

  • Many of the recipes are plant-based, and if not include notes for flexible options to suit various diet types.

  • That’s exactly what this guide is here to help with. You’ll find easy-to-follow explanations of which food groups are most beneficial after treatment, which ones are best to reduce, and why. There’s even a visual guide you can pop on the fridge for quick reference.

  • Emerging research shows that a healthy gut microbiome may play a role in improving treatment outcomes, reducing inflammation, and supporting your immune system. This guide includes specific foods, strategies, and pre/probiotic info to help care for your gut after treatment — especially if it’s taken a hit during chemo.

  • This eBook doesn’t replace personalised nutrition advice — but it can be a hugely helpful step in the right direction.

For some people, this guide is exactly what they need to feel more confident in their food choices without needing ongoing support. For others, especially those with complex medical needs or who are struggling with their relationship with food, one-on-one nutrition counselling can offer extra clarity and care.

If you're unsure what you need, feel free to reach out and we can chat through your options.

  • This guide can absolutely be helpful for people with metastatic or advanced breast cancer — many of my clients at this stage find the nutrition information and meal ideas really valuable.

That said, there’s often a layer of complexity with advanced disease. You may have different nutrient needs, or experience side effects that make it harder to meet energy and protein requirements — especially if following a high-fibre eating pattern.

For that reason, I usually recommend a consultation to tailor this approach to your individual needs. We might tweak meals, adjust portion sizes, or add in higher-energy snacks to make sure you're getting the right support for your body.

Move through the cancer journey with more ease, more energy and less overwhelm

What we eat really can make a difference. Alongside movement, sleep and stress, food is one of the most powerful tools we have to support recovery, energy, and long-term health.

We’re lucky to have such strong research in the breast cancer space. One recent meta-analysis found that a high-quality diet — especially one rich in fruit, vegetables and soy — is linked to a 51% lower risk of developing breast cancer. Another showed a 23% improvement in overall survival for those already diagnosed. Pretty incredible, right?

This guide brings the growing body of research to life — with feel-good, nourishing meals and practical tools to help you take care of your body, one bite at a time.

It’s helped so many of my clients feel more confident, more energised, and way less overwhelmed — and I’d love for it to do the same for you.

Just $87 AUD — that’s less than half the cost of an initial consult ($200), and you’ll get 67 pages of expert-backed nutrition guidance, recipes, and a full 7-day meal plan.

The kind of resource I wish everyone had after finishing treatment.

Ready to feel a little more confident and a lot less overwhelmed?
