“We are loving the mint choc and the berry banana smoothies, they are on high rotation!”

“I’m using the smoothies as a way to increase my protein when I don’t know what else to make (chemo brain!)”

Hey, I’m Alex — clinical oncology dietitian, founder of Feel Better Nutrition, and daughter of someone living with metastatic cancer.

I’ve made it my mission to help people with cancer find peace with food.

The resources in this library are here to offer extra inspiration and support — especially for those who may not have regular access to a dietitian throughout the cancer journey, or for whom cost is a barrier to care.

After more than 10 years supporting people through chemotherapy, I created this guide to offer simple, nourishing options that make the harder days feel a little easier. These smoothies are based on what I often recommend to clients during treatment — when liquids and soft foods can be more manageable, and smoothies become a helpful way to boost nutrition with ingredients that support energy, strength, and recovery. Each recipe has been tailored to common treatment side effects.

Still not sure if this is right for you? Check out the FAQ below.

Q: Is this suitable for all types of cancer?
This guide is general in nature and was created with common chemotherapy side effects in mind. It’s not specific to any one cancer type. For personalised advice, please speak with your dietitian or reach out for a consult.

Q: I have hormone-positive breast cancer — is soy safe?
Whole soy foods (like tofu and soy milk) appear safe and may even be protective. However, soy protein isolate is still being researched, so its safety is currently unclear.

Q: Do I need a blender?
Yes — a standard or bullet blender is perfect. No fancy equipment needed.

Q: What time of day is best to have my smoothies?
As a clinical dietitian, I recommend smoothies as an addition to your diet — not a replacement for meals. During cancer treatment, your body’s nutritional needs increase significantly (think of it like training for a marathon — you need more fuel to keep going). Smoothies can be a helpful way to boost your intake of energy, protein, and micronutrients. Try them at morning tea, afternoon tea, or after dinner — or whenever works best for you.

Q: How do I receive the guide?

You’ll be able to download your guide straight after checkout, and you’ll also receive it instantly by email as a beautifully designed PDF — ready to save, print, or keep on your device for easy access.

I hope this guide helps you feel more supported and nourished — one smoothie at a time.
